Herefords are beautiful cows, but down here deep in the Southern Hemisphere, the UV exploits their genetic weakness regarding Squamous Cell Carcinomas, and these life threatening eye cancers are common. So… fewer an fewer Herefords remain here in my patch. I use lignocaine and a light sedative to allow me to proptose the orbit, giving me fine control to surgically remove this peduncuated proliferative SCC on this girl’s eye. Pretty successful I reckon!
