Professor Georgina Long AO and Professor Richard Scolyer AO have saved thousands of lives from melanoma. Their immunotherapy approach has cured even advanced cases. 

When Richard was diagnosed with incurable grade four brain cancer in June 2023, they developed a treatment based on their melanoma breakthroughs, which Richard is trialling and publicly documenting. 

Georgina and Richard receive the 2024 NSW Australian of the Year award.
