Early HRT formulations used pseudo-hormones, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, because it was the best they could do. Those chemicals, when given to older women in menopause, actually did increase breast cancer rates. But that's because they weren't human hormones. They were pro-inflammatory endocrine disruptors, especially the fake progestin, medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA), which was particularly pro-breast cancer.

The crazy thing about the WHI is that they studied fake hormones, found an increased risk of breast cancer, and then concluded that all hormones, real and fake, cause breast cancer. That's not how science works.

Cancer rates in women skyrocket AFTER menopause. Your natural hormones are protective. Women did not evolve to have their primary hormones induce cancer.

The fact that the WHI convinced millions of women and their doctors that estradiol and progesterone cause cancer is just insane.
