Here are three things that can cause cancer:

1. **Tobacco Use**: Smoking and using other forms of tobacco are leading causes of cancer, particularly lung cancer. Tobacco use is also linked to cancers of the mouth, throat, pancreas, bladder, and more.

2. **Exposure to Radiation**: Prolonged or high levels of exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or tanning beds can lead to skin cancers, including melanoma. Additionally, exposure to certain types of ionizing radiation, such as X-rays and radon gas, can increase the risk of cancer.

3. **Certain Infections**: Some viral and bacterial infections can increase the risk of cancer. For example, human papillomavirus (HPV) is associated with cervical and other cancers, hepatitis B and C viruses can lead to liver cancer, and Helicobacter pylori infection is linked to stomach cancer.
