Breast cancer is an uncontrolled growth of cells in the breast tissue that can spread to other parts of the body. Breast cancer can occur in both men and women, but it is much more common in women.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women and the second leading cause of cancer death in women. Breast cancer is of different types, and the exact cause of the disease is unknown. However, some risk factors have been identified, among which include being female, age, family history, inherited gene mutations, early puberty, late menopause, late child bearing, never being pregnant, post-menopausal hormone therapy, exposure to radiation, obesity, and alcohol consumption.
Early detection and treatment increases the chances of full recovery from cancer.
