Normal ultrasound finding of Lactating Breast

Both axilla: Benign appearing small lymph node is noted in the right axilla measuring 1.43cm and 7.2mm.

Both breast:
1. The skin layer is normal. Thickness is 1.8mm in all quadrants.

2. Hypoechoic subcutaneous layer is normal in all quadrants

3. Retromammary layer with pectorals muscle layer are also appear normal.

4. No micro or macro calcification is noted within the breast.

5. Fibro glandular area

The breast is very dense, heterogenous coarse, nodular and confluent.

Milk ducts appear as oval hypoechoic structures. Ducts can also observe in the nipple as hypoechoic tubular structures.

Some milk ducts have collapsed under minimal to moderate compression with the ultrasound transducer.

There is moderate amount of fat within the parenchyma of the breast.

No obvious mass or collection is noted.
No evidence of Mastitis is seen.
