Hand-foot syndrome, also known as palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia or chemotherapy-induced acral erythema, is a side effect commonly associated with certain chemotherapy drugs. It is characterized by redness, swelling, pain, and/or a tingling sensation in the palms of the hands and soles of the feet.

Symptoms of hand-foot syndrome can vary from mild to severe and may include:

• Redness (erythema) of the palms and soles.
• Swelling and tightness in the affected areas.
• Sensitivity to touch or pressure.
• Burning or tingling sensation.
• Pain or discomfort.
• Development of blisters or calluses.
• Dry or peeling skin.
• Changes in skin texture (thickening or cracking).
